I Want to Dive Back Into Technology—
Toward a New Challenge in Robotics
I spent more than twenty years in management at my previous job. Even while handling numbers, my fascination with
technology never faded—I often found myself thinking, “Someday, I’d like to get my hands dirty again.” That thought
was exactly what drew me to this new company: the president reached out to me and that became the catalyst for my
joining.
The role involves creating end‑to‑end IoT solutions for social infrastructure—from device-level development to cloud
monitoring and web‑based visualization. It’s a work environment that feels like a garage‑style workshop and lab, and
I’m struck by a sense of momentum that’s different from anything I’ve experienced before.
Age and Position Gaps
Bridged by Technology as a Common Language
The company’s flat culture is one of its most striking features. Even when people come from different generations and backgrounds, the common language is “technology,” and conversations flow naturally. There are still a lot of first‑time tasks and a great deal to learn. In this context, I am mindful of my role as someone who has spent a long time in the industry: I strive to convey the fundamentals clearly. In an age where convenient tools and methods are plentiful, I make a concerted effort to share principles and thinking with younger colleagues from the ground up, so that they have a solid, reassuring foundation on which to take on new challenges.
