As I Accumulate Practical Experience,
My Perspective on Design Expands
I mainly handle the design of elementary schools in Tokyo, taking responsibility for site‑based interior proposals, BIM drafting, and practical design work. Unlike the design assignments I tackled in school, architectural design requires not only zoning and design but also coordination with structure, mechanical and electrical systems, and considerations of constructability. At first I was somewhat uncertain, but as I went through the process my perspective on design broadened. When the plans and interior proposals I conceived were accepted, I felt a strong sense of fulfillment and the tangible payoff that comes with being an designer.
A Workplace Easy to Consult and Supports Your Challenges
The atmosphere inside the company is such that, in addition to work‑related consultations, there are plenty of
everyday conversations, which naturally foster communication.
It isn’t limited to just the projects I’m in charge of – young staff members can share doubts with one another and
feel free to ask questions of supervisors and senior colleagues.
During the monthly all‑hands meeting, we learn how other teams think and operate, which is a great chance to broaden
our horizons.
By not carrying everything on my own and building experience with the support of those around me, I feel confident
enough to take on new challenges.
