Pay Attention Even to a Single Email
– Accumulate Trust and Build Strong Customer Relationships
I am in charge of selling security cameras for apartment buildings. While most of my work involves handling the building management company, I also feel that building relationships with the homeowners’ association members who ultimately make the adoption decision is critically important. The job doesn’t end once the system is installed—there are ongoing maintenance checks and, a few years later, equipment upgrades—so I keep thinking of our work as “not just a one‑time sale but a long‑term partnership with the customer.” That’s why I pay close attention to every single email. Because the market is one where products alone rarely differentiate you, I believe that accumulating trust through communication with customers is the key.
I Initially Aimed for an Office Role
— A Warm Company Culture Gave Me the Push
I now serve in a managerial role, guiding junior colleagues and subordinates, but when I was a fresh‑out‑of‑school job seeker, I was aiming for an office‑administration position. I’ve always been a bit reserved and introverted, so the idea of stepping into sales didn’t feel natural to me. Yet I was deeply attracted to a company that championed the principles of “trust and integrity.” During the interview, the HR staff and senior employees treated me with such warmth that the reassurance they offered made the decision to join feel effortless. After I joined, whenever I encountered something I didn’t know, a senior would explain it, and because the company culture emphasizes mutual support, I continue to give my best today.
